LiUNA Local 563

Project Details:

ICS partnered with the Laborers International Union of North America (LiUNA) to provide comprehensive owner’s representation services for the Laborers Local 563’s new administrative offices and union hall. Located near U.S. Bank Stadium in downtown Minneapolis, the new 32,000-square-foot facility is about four times larger than their NE Minneapolis location. The new building provides a dynamic and versatile space tailored to the union’s evolving needs.

Sustainability was critical, with design elements integrated to meet city standards, ensuring the facility aligns with modern environmental expectations. Local 563’s branding is prominently displayed throughout the space, reinforcing the union’s identity and showcasing its legacy of strength and capability.

Interior renovations included major demolition, raising a portion of the building’s roof structure, new offices, restrooms, garage space, a multi-functional union hall including a fully equipped kitchen, a rooftop patio, and other supporting spaces.

The union hall will serve as a flexible venue for meetings, events, and other gatherings. The exterior rooftop patio provides stunning views of the U.S. Bank Stadium to enhance the communal experience. The design prioritizes secure and efficient work environments, featuring controlled access entry points, dedicated administrative offices, executive suites, and multiple meeting and conference rooms.

Essential infrastructure upgrades include updated storage areas, IT/data rooms, mechanical spaces, and significant improvements to the building’s exterior envelope for greater efficiency and durability.

This state-of-the-art facility not only reflects Local 563’s values but also serves as a hub for its 10,000-member community, embodying the union’s commitment to excellence and innovation.
