Project Details:
Forest Lake Area Schools, geographically the Twin Cities region’s largest school district, serves over 7,000 students across 11 cities and townships. On November 3, 2015, District voters said “yes” to a project focused on safety, security, educational improvements, and building infrastructure upgrades and replacements. This successful $143 million campaign, titled “Reshaping Opportunities for Success 2015 – 2020,” provided improvements across all District facilities including:
- Additions and remodel to Forest Lake Area Middle School (formerly Century Junior High)
- Forest Lake High School classroom addition and remodel
- New six-court fieldhouse with multi-purpose floor
- Additions and renovations to Forest Lake Area Community School (formerly Southwest Junior High)
- Safety and security updates across all facilities
- Addition to the District’s transportation building
- Upgrades to all elementary facilities including safety, security, ADA updates, and building systems (Construction Management for upgrades at Elementary Schools managed by another firm)
From a unique science classroom addition at the High School, which creates an effective use of space between two classrooms, to a welcoming and open media center to a large and flexible fieldhouse, Forest Lake’s improvements have changed the landscape of how they educate their students.
