Anoka County Emergency Communications Facility

Project Details:

After various courthouse renovations in 2017, ICS was once again hired by Anoka County to provide construction management services for a new 911 Emergency Communications Center and Radio Shop.

Built over 30 years ago, the county’s current 911 center is only 5,000 square feet. The lack of space presents a challenge as the county’s population expanded rapidly to over 360,000 in 2020. The number of calls increased from 107,000 in 1987 to over 400,000 in 2022. The new center will be approximately 42,000 square feet, provide expanded dispatch workstations, other support areas, and expanded radio shop vehicle maintenance bays to support the county’s staff and provide ample sunlight for county staff as previous operations were conducted in the existing facility’s windowless basement.
